Small Groups Activities.
In addition to One-off activities, Excursions and Special
Events, there are activities which happen weekly and monthly
in Small Groups. The list of groups and their organiser can be
found in the Members Directory and details of the months
activities can be found in the current Newsletter. Please
contact the organiser for more details of your chosen activity.

Modern Poetry Group
The group meets on the fourth Thursday of the month.

Play Reading
The play reading group fills an ache to be in touch with the
dramatic world in our own English spoken word. It meets up
to read a play on the 3rd Monday of the month, and we try to
go to each other's house or apartment, as long as it can
house 12 people.

Pétanque
While in Provence, why not learn the traditional game of
boules, locally played as pétanque?
There’s a session on the first Sunday of each month at:
Boulodrome, Puyricard – on the way out of Puyricard, route du
Seuil
No previous skills required.

New Members
Our New Members Representative will contact you as soon as
you join the AAGP with useful information on the Group and its
many activities. Our Coordinator will also ensure that you are
invited to join the "One List", our online Member to Member
Google group and will be available to answer any questions
you may have or to point you in the right direction.

Marseille Activities
Every month the team in Marseille organise a variety of
activities. These have included a book group, coffee
mornings, visits to exhibitions, lunches, afternoon tea and
evening drinks.

Lunches
Lunch in Aix
Currently, there is not a coordinator for these. If you are
interested in organising a lunch please contact a Board
member - the list of members, with emails, is in the Members
Directory and the Newsletter.

Library
The AAGP library of books and
DVDs in English is situated at:

It opens on Wednesdays and Saturdays 9:30-11:30.

Hikes
These take place on Sundays once a month and are for the
more energetic amongst us!
The hikers take on the calanques and the mountains. Hikes
are usually last about 4 hours and cover a variety of terrain.
You will need to bring a picnic, sun cream, water and be
equipped with proper hiking gear.

French Conversation
AAGP member Jean-Louis Morgenthaler hosts an informal
conversation group for members on alternate Friday mornings
from 10:30 in the winter and 10:00 in the summer (slightly
cooler time), at:

Excursions
The AAGP organises an excellent programme of excursions to
please all interests. These visits are not planned on a monthly
basis, but pop up when there is something new to discover,
and are not necessarily historical or art focussed; past visits
have included the EDF plant, the boules factory in Marseille
and a behind the scenes trip round the airport.
If you are interested in organizing an excursion, or forming a
small group to plan something on a regular basis, please

in the Members Directory and the Newsletter.
Ciné Club
Deanna and Gilles host a monthly classic cinema soirée
in their home with pizza and popcorn!

Learn and play card games… the competition should be
intense, but fun! And new players are always welcome!
Please let Paula know by 20th of the previous month if you
plan to attend, so she can notify the venue of the number of
participants.
